‘He tried to grab me…’ Rutuja Sawant reveals her terrifying casting couch experience
‘Pishachini’ actress Rutuja Sawant shared how she faced the casting couch once in the early years of her career and called it one of the scariest incidents of her life.
Rutuja said: “It is normal for a struggling actor to do a lot of auditions, so one day when I was in my 20s looking for work, I got a call from an agent who asked me for a meeting. Asked to come to his office. Instead of discussing the work, the agent tried to come close to me and grab me. I was so scared that I ran away from the place.”
She says, “That incident taught me to be more careful in meeting people I don’t know. After that incident, I stopped going to any meetings alone. I always take a friend with me to the meeting. Even today, I usually cross-check the details of the person I am going to meet for work.”
Rutuja concluded, “Unfortunately, many new actors have had to face such bad experiences and new actors easily fall prey to it. But I believe there are good and bad people everywhere, you just Have to play safe and make yourself a priority.”
Rutuja Sawant is known for her roles in shows like ‘Mehndi Hai Rachne Wali’ and ‘Chhoti Sarrdaarni’.
