IND vs AUS: ‘Better than out-of-form KL Rahul Shubman Gill’, India opener trolled for poor performance in Indore Test

IND vs AUS: ‘Better than out-of-form KL Rahul Shubman Gill

IND vs AUS:  India’s young batting sensation Shubman Gill replaced former vice-captain KL Rahul for the third Test against Australia in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. The right-handed opener failed to make the same impact as the other Indian batsmen, but the spotlight was on him as he replaced Rahul. Gill failed to take advantage of the opportunity and was dismissed for low scores in both innings for Team India.

Gill gave away his wicket cheaply in the second innings when he hit a walk out of the park out of his crease, but was trapped by Nathan Lyon instead. He missed the lineup completely and the ball went between his bat and pad and rattled his stumps. He was able to score only 21 runs in the first innings.

Fans on social media were not impressed with the way Shubman Gill handled the occasion in the third Test against Australia. (Read: Virat Kohli angry at himself after being dismissed in the second innings of the third Test – watch)

For India, Pujara struck a much-needed 59 off 142 balls on a difficult pitch in the second innings through his precise footwork and judicious shot selection. The rest of the batsmen including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin could not walk.

In the morning, Australia took an 88-run lead as Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin took 3/12 and 3/44 respectively in the first session to bowl the visitors out for 197.
